THE COMPLIANCE
ASSESSMENT

Every other page on this site is a tool. This one's just me. Eighteen years inside Victorian government schools, including time spent on the other side of the desk, assessing schools against the exact standards you're trying to meet.

THE BACKGROUND

I spent a year as a Senior Advisor in the Department of Education's School Compliance Unit, at VPS5 level. That role wasn't "working in compliance" in the vague sense. It was assessing schools directly against the Child Safe Standards and the Minimum Standards for Registration, the same standards your school is required to meet. I know what an assessor actually looks for, because I was one.

WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE

FIVE WAYS IN
01
Gap analysis
A clear picture of where your school sits against the standards now, and what's actually missing.
02
Document review
Policies, registers, and evidence checked against what an assessor will expect to see.
03
Pre-assessment preparation
Getting ready for a VRQA review or compliance visit, without the last-minute scramble.
04
Staff briefings
Practical sessions that explain the standards in plain language, not policy-speak.
05
One-off advice
A specific compliance question that just needs a straight, informed answer.
